I will be personally offended if the other version of the Shamy kiss doesn’t make the bonus features on the Season 7 DVDs

Today after not watching TBBT for soo long (seriously, I don’t know what’s wrong with me lately), I watched the scene where Sheldon kisses Amy (for the first time), and OOH MY. I just feel like I’ve watched that scene soo many times that sometimes I forget that:
1. He’s mocking romance
2. He’s…

I was spoiler free on that kiss, too. It snuck up on me, and I was a bit shocked. I think what people perceive as Sheldon and Amy not liking each other anymore, is simply attraction that has reached it’s limit. Sheldon is sexually frustrated and doesn’t even know it. His body and his heart is pushing him to do something his mind is rebelling against. Add to that all of these changes he’s being faced with, and it’s not wonder he cracked. The saying Somethings gotta give is apt here. I only hope they (the writers) do not take them backwards.

I am not sure the writers would. They have taken Sheldon and Amy through four years of learning and growing as people. To suddenly shift them back would make no sense. Granted, they make keep them apart for a bit, but the way the writers have taken them both on this slow journey with hiccups along the way is the key to great character development. It is what has made us Shamy lovers so invested in these two people.

And, I think Sheldon being exposed to Amy has awakened these feelings of love and sexuality that Sheldon has been afraid of all these years. He has been afraid of what love brings to two people after living through conflict with his mother and father and is fighting the urge to surrender to them. I think the writers will get him there eventually. True, it is not fast enough for us the viewers who want to see their relationship go to the next level.  For me, I want just a simple “I love you, Amy” from the writers at first anyway. Then they can move to second base or whatever. :)

Totally agree! As much as I want them to be happy, having them jump into bed would not be realistic. I think what touches me and makes my heart ache a little is that they are both hurting, mostly due to Sheldon not being able to surrender his feelings. I understand why he hasn’t been ready. But what bothers me is how he treated her. Even more than an I love you, I hope he sincerely apologizes to her.

Oh, yeah, I think the writers totally need to have him apologize first, then tell her he loves her, because now that I think about it, if he did say he loved her first, then she may not be able to hold him accountable for leaving her in the first place.
